Look inside

Every play is laid out the same way: what to do, why it matters, the steps to run it, and how you know you've scored. Here is a spread from Play 3.

Make it easy to say yes

Give customers four ways to reach you: online booking, a phone number, a contact form and website chat. Then make sure every one of them reaches your phone.

Why it matters. People look for a detailer at night, at lunch and on Sunday. You are usually elbow-deep in a car when they do. The detailer who is easiest to book gets the job, and different customers want different doors.

Take it off the screen. Not every customer finds you online. Put the same phone number and booking link on everything a neighbor might see.

Play 3: Make it easy to say yes

Run it.

  1. Online booking. The customer picks a vehicle size, a service and a time from your real availability, sees the price, and gets a confirmation. No phone call needed.
  2. A business phone number. Put it at the top of the site as a tap-to-call link. If you miss a call, text back within minutes.
  3. A short contact form. Name, phone, vehicle, what they need. Four fields.
  4. Test every door. Book a job, send the form, start a chat and call the number yourself.
You've scored when

someone can book you at 11 pm without talking to you, and every other enquiry gets a reply the same day.

Watch out. Don't add doors you can't keep open. Two that work beat four that don't.

Who it's for

Mobile and shop detailers, solo or with a small crew, who do good work and want a fuller calendar.

What you need

A phone, a Google account, photos of your work, and about two hours a week.

What it costs to run

The listings are free. A website can be free or the price of a domain name. Ads are optional, and no play depends on them.
